Dr. Alpan earned the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of the Pacific (UOP)
School of Dentistry in San Francisco and became licensed to practice dentistry in California and
Nevada in 1996.
After completing the orthodontic training program at UOP in 1998, he received the Orthodontic
Specialty certificate.
Dr. Alpan was awarded the Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree for the master's thesis he
wrote on the results of the two-year TMJ research project he did during his orthodontic specialty
training.
Dr. Alpan founded Aesthetic Orthodontics in Los Angeles in 1998 and the Beverly Hills and Las

Vegas branches in 1999.
Every year he and all the members of his team take continuing education courses to keep current with the most
modern orthodontic and TMJ treatment methods.
Dr. Alpan became certified to use invisalign® in 1999. In 2001, Align Technology hired him to teach
orthodontists and general dentists to become certified invisalign® providers.
Dr. Alpan founded Orthodontic Treatment Planning (OTP), Inc. in 2001 to help newly certified orthodontists and
general dentists with optimum treatment plans and ClinChecks for invisalign® aligners used on their patients.
In 2003, Align Technology asked Dr. Alpan to lead invisalign® study groups in Los Angeles and Orange County to
help general dentists feel more comfortable about using the invisalign® system. Align also asked him to speak
to their sales reps about the invisalign® certification process.
