I was born and raised in Iowa. My father was a dentist who started this practice in 1957. I got my undergraduate BS from the University of Iowa. I earned my DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1984. I practiced with my father until 1991. I earned a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1995. This was a significant career milestone for me because my father was a founding member of the Iowa chapter of the AGD and had earned his fellowship twenty years earlier in 1975. The AGD has a strong commitment to continuous education and specific requirements to maintain and advance as a member. I share that commitment to be a continuous student.
